Welcome to Akona Education. Akona Education offers student-centered, one-to-one, private tutoring for school aged students, in language arts, social, science, and math. We also provide tutoring in study and homework completion strategies, note-taking strategies, time-management and organizational skills. Some programmes offer supplemental resource packages, and academic assessments. Akona Education is owned and operated by principle consultant Adriane Pettit, B.Ed. Adriane has extensive classroom experience in both elementary and junior high levels, in both private and public education systems in Alberta and British Columbia. Areas of specialty include Special Education, Native Education, Technological Studies, and Classroom Management. Akona Education also contracts teachers with expertise in specific curricular areas who are available to meet a student's academic programme. Our goals are to enhance, broaden, and enrich the student's individual academic success and overall educational experience, while working collaboratively with the student, parent and classroom teacher.
